Good afternoon BMI!
For all those who signed up to participate in the jack-o-lantern carving competition, pumpkins will be available for pick up tomorrow (Thursday, 26th) at 12PM in the 4th floor lunch room in front of the elevators. The rest of the pumpkins will be given out on a first come first serve basis. You have until next Tuesday to carve your lab pumpkins!
Tuesday the 31st, there will be $2 Pizza, free treats and drinks served at 1PM in the Staff lounge on the third floor (RGN3004). Check your email for the link to sign up for pizza and let us know how many slices you’d like!
There are prizes to be won for the best lab costume, best individual costume and best pumpkin contests!

You’re invited to attend BMIGSA’s first Science Policy Night! Four speakers – Dr. Kate Gibbs (Evidence for Democracy), Dr. Kristin Baetz (Canadian Society for Molecular Biosciences), Dr. Jeremy Kerr (Canadian Society for Ecology and Evolution), and Dr. Stewart Fast (uOttawa Institute for Science, Society, and Policy) – will be presenting on their career into science policy and communication, why it’s important for scientists to interface with the public and policy makers, and how graduate students can get involved in science policy work.
