The Faculty of Medicine Wellness Program is now your FIRST POINT OF CONTACT for non-emergency mental health services! If you would like to book an appt, email: firstname.lastname@example.org
The wait time is usually about 2 weeks, and the first appointment is an in-take assessment.
They will determine the best way to proceed, either offering you up to 6 additional appointments with their psychologist/psychiatrist or referring you to additional counselling services through the University of Ottawa, including SASS Counselling. You need this referral to see SASS counsellors as a graduate student.

Student Support Program
As a graduate student, you have access to an e-counselling service. Sign up here: https://www.workhealthlife.com
Select GSAED and then press Chat Now to set up your first call, where they will decide the best way to address your mental health needs! They even have an app you can use for in-app counselling!
Good To Talk
Though their website says you cannot be older than 25, they WILL NOT turn you away based on your age! Based on your needs, you will be put through to a counselor or addictions specialist.

The BMIGSA (in partnership with the CMM/NSC GSA) is launching a Wellness Workshop Series! Our first workshop will be a Stress Management Workshop here at RGN in November! Directly following the Wellness Workshop, we will be hosting a Peer Support Group. You’ll be able to share both your struggles and triumphs with other graduate students who are also going through the same challenges as you! You’ll also enjoy some healthy snacks and tea on us!! University of Ottawa Mindfulness Challenge!
Would you like to be calm, more present and focused, and lead a happier and healthier life? For World Mental Health Day, the 30 Day Mindfulness Challenge is back! Close to 800 staff and students took the challenge earlier in 2018. 96% reported that they were better able to manage stress and 94% experienced improved mental health.
